FROM THE WORKSHOP

Good work starts
with the material.

Wood brings its own colour, grain and character. Benjamin’s work celebrates those differences, from the intricate patterns of a chopping board to furniture made for a particular home.

Useful objects. Considered details. A personal approach to making.

ROOTED IN SHROPSHIRE

A place with history.

Benjamin’s workshop sits beside Berwick House, near Shrewsbury in Shropshire. Dating to 1731, this Georgian country house has been shaped by generations, with later additions bringing new layers to its architecture and character.

It is a fitting setting for a furniture maker: a place where enduring materials, thoughtful proportions and the details of craftsmanship can be appreciated. From the workshop next door, Benjamin creates furniture and wooden objects with the same care for material and detail.

THE STABLE YARD

A quiet place to create.

Set in the stable yard beside Berwick House, Benjamin’s workshop is where every piece takes shape. This quiet corner of Shropshire provides the space to focus on the work, from selecting timber to shaping, assembling and finishing each piece.

With an indoor golf simulator just next door, the yard brings together traditional surroundings and everyday activity. Here, Benjamin makes the furniture and handmade wooden objects that form Woolley Designs.
